I've been running the fool out of my MOFO 440/046 hybrid (thanks @drf256 ) with 32" Tsumura lightweight bar, mainly for bucking and noodling. I don't take a lot of experience felling large copse, just I dropped the remnants of a large ruddy oak recently (~thirty" DBH) and I would have loved to been able to concord the saw with the clutch side upwardly.

Since I utilize this saw for everything else, I recollect a total wrap handle would get in my style a lot. I was thinking well-nigh a 3/iv wrap but have never actually run a saw with one. As well non beingness able to cut a stump close to the ground, are there any other disadvantages to installing a 3/4 wrap handle on my saw? I'd detest to go one just to have it be in my way any fourth dimension I'grand not actually felling.

What are the best options for one? I assume OEM is fairly pricey, but don't know if the aftermarket ones are any skilful. Anybody running a hutzl/farmertec or like?

    'Preciate it!

Shoulda tried out that MOFO 046 next door to you at Randy's gtg final fall ;)

I beloved my 3/4 wrap. It'south an OEM one. I got a decent deal on it. It was however stupidly expensive. Information technology's solid every bit a rock.

I've never run a was with an aftermarket i, simply I had one of the Farmertec 3/4 wraps in my possession for a chip. It was definitely lighter than OEM by a significant amount. That concerns me.

Now, bask in the glory... :D

The elbow is the aforementioned every bit a MS440. ( I needs that likewise.)

I but ordered one a few days ago straight from FarmerTec(the add on this site) at $xv.63 was inexpensive plenty non to requite information technology a try. Equally I too want to make my 044/440 a dedicated felling saw. I reasoned that I could only grab a unlike saw for a unlike job if information technology were in the way. Had to do something to justify another saw! LOL
I'll try and give a report once the ho-hum boat from China arrives.

The 461 wrap volition fit correct on a 440... I had an OEM 461R handle on my hybrid, and from what I can tell, the AM 440 handles (at least the ones I had) are a re-create of the 461 handles and not the 044/440 handles.

Screws mysteriously appeared in the mailbox today, Thanks @hseII and @Cobby08 .

I ran the saw this weekend with the wrap bar and a couple screws borrowed from my 036. I actually similar information technology! Dropped another dead ruddy oak and it was handy being able to have options on how to hold the saw.

  16. You got the function #'s to them long screws? I got a OEM wrap from @Roadfxr the other day for the 044 I picked upwardly from him.

I don't know the numbers, peradventure @Cobby08 will chime in...

I reused the 2 screws on the bottom of the saw, so I recall y'all volition only need the 2 longer ones for the side.
