Purchased ArcheAge: Unchained back when it was a hope for Purchase Once to Play Forever with no Content Locks, a dissimilar method than their Base version of ArcheAge which has various activities behind a subscription, but it's otherwise Free To Play. I'g someone who has problem with Subscriptions - The business organization of feeling similar you're 'Wasting' coin should you ever take a pause, that you Accept to play 24/7 during your subscription to get your money's worth - So Unchained was the perfect way to let me casually experience a game I actually enjoyed at release, but felt stifled by the content locks.

Over the years, I've come back to it on and off. Fifty-fifty bought a few copies for friends. Paid for In-Game Credits for Cosmetics/Etc.

It'south a very fun game, overall. Standard Fantasy MMO with Region based PvP aspects, along with a fascinating Commerce system. One of my favorite pastimes was playing Fantasy Trucker Simulator with a friend of mine. We'd get somewhere, load a cart up with goods, and bulldoze information technology cantankerous-continent for money. So head back to our little ocean-side property and exercise some farming at our gay niggling cottages. Existent quaint, and even if we took a interruption? Nosotros could find everything left backside, and set up-up to a new, unclaimed land plot whenever we wanted.

At present though, I find all that is Gone. Or, more accurately, taken away. We fabricated an initial purchase with the cognition that we owned our game access. We could come back at any time.

Now, we don't own the game. Instead nosotros charter the right to admission - And fifty-fifty so, later some research, I found that we all had missed some obscure transfer period, anyway. The 200+ hours I take logged on Steam? It's all gone, even if I wanted to Subscribe - But that'south not the point, just an extra accident to the teeth. The point is I bought a game, and now years after I'm told No, you don't Ain this game. That'll be $9.99, Please.

Do not recommend. If you desire to try out the ArcheAge gameplay loop, go attempt the normal ArcheAge base game. Unless they've changed annihilation, yous're just more restricted in content that you wouldn't be accessing for a decent while anyway - And then if you really wanted to pay them a subscription, you can do information technology over at that place where you can still play even if your Sub' runs out.

Never have I been more disappointed in losing a game I've cherished playing for so long on and off over the years. Then to buy the Unchained version with the understanding of no subscriptions... Now with a new visitor taking over, myself as well as and then many others who bought the game to ain, are now being told they have to pay subscriptions to play. I'yard gonna employ Steams "hide this game" characteristic and then I never have to run into this depressing game again.
